This was so my hubby would at least check before he put everything in the washing machine. I'm also guilty so I need the sign too. I learned the hard way as a teenager when I put my dad's overalls in the washing machine at the laundromat and forgot to check his pockets. He had a can of Prince Albert that came open. Laundromat was not amused.

you and my husband leave important things in thier pockets! screws,nuts and bolts,money and yes, cell phones!
i do not understand it either. i empty out my pockets on the dresser top..and toss them down the clothes chute.
he showers in the basement..so he takes his pants off and tosses them into the washer..without checking his pockets.
i learned from watching my dad..well,not exactly watching..lol. :roll:
he had a change jar,and a fancy wooden thing, that his watch and other items got tossed into when he undressed .
and i do it too!
i would use a perm marker,and write on the inside of the washer lid.."did you check your pockets?!"
