I'll have to look later. I wanted to place an order for several odds and ends I need but have to get ready to leave for work.
I like your description: the seam turner flattener thingy - and I agree that they just don't know how to write a proper index!
I think I know what you're describing. Would they come in sets of 3 or 4 different widths? Did you check Clotilde or Nancy's Notions? I would just skim through all the pictures.

A Bodkin is a semi-flexible tool to thread elastic or cord through a casing. A cheap rat tail comb works best for me.

I am like some of the other ladies. I too use the purple thang. I got my online too. I don't remember where though. I just love it.

    Collins finger presser

This is what I have to help with my applique and my seams on blocks. I have the purple thingy too, but find this 'wooden finger' works way better on my applique and seams. It's reasonable and works well if you use the correct end.

I call it a "butter knife" or a "spoon handle". :D

I also use a chopstick. Just make sure it has the round head and not square. Works great and you don't need to put out a dime for it.

To make your own Collins finger presser, take a spsring-type clothes pin apart. In fact, you'll get two for the price of none!

I have the perfectly rounded tool... pressing bars. I got a set delivered yesterday and it's just right for what I needed other than for bias strips.

Thanks Klue for the tips on using the water soluble thread. I didn't have the non-woven interfacing so I used muslin for the back. According to Klue, I just hit it with some steam, the thread will disolve, the back will come off, and you are left with an ironed under seam allowance to applique.

What a great idea for applique! I'd heard about using fusible interfacing, but water soluble thread and muslin is an even better idea - no extra bulk!
