well I have at last had time to use my new janome 1600p. after having to diagnose stitching problems (it wouldn' pick up stitches, bured neadle), WOW as you can see from the pictures my 2 machines together.
on the left is my Bernina on the right my new Janome.
well as the heading says it is like going from using a push bike to a harley. even on a low speed and only just a little pressure on the foot peddle it is still much faster than my Bernina, I can see myself getting so much more done in less time, WOW I love it

Bernina & janome

Isn't the one on the left a Bernette? That is an entirely different line than a Bernina. Glad you are enjoying your new machine!

I have the same Janome & love it. It is a real workhorse. I do call it my "left handed" machine because it seems I have to do all of the feet, bobbins, etc with my left hand- just something to get used to. I love the sound it makes when I am sewing fast!

I started sewing when I was just a little girl and I used a singer treddle machine and it and a few other machines I had all had a bobbin that you put in from the left, tho I think the feet you changed from the right.
and yes i love the sound it makes when sewing fast.
many years ago I used industrial sewing machines and I loved them I have wanted one for years. woo hoo now I have 1
