Big P.S. here. There was an article in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper this week about a big renewal of interest in home sewing. A LOT of people are tired of buying expensive, shoddy clothing, etc., and are wanting to make their own, so they are attending classes. I think it's great! On a selfish note, the more people who are looking to buy fabric should mean more manufacturers, more fabric and, hopefully, something good will come of that for us quilters.

I am new to quilting, only one year, but have been sewing forever. I used to make most of the clothing for my daughters and myself. Now I make party dresses for my granddaughters, as needed.

Enjoyed sewing since I was about 10 and as some of you started out with doll clothes. Toni Doll and Ginger were my dolls way back then, still have my patterns. Made clothes for myself and children, even my husbands shirts. Didn't quilt for many years, left that up to my husbands grandmother. Still enjoy sewing and of course love fabric.

My mother taught me to sew when I was very young. I had my first professional job at 19. I am 82 and I'm still at it. I aint gonna stop!

I hand quilt, machine rag quilt, make drapes, curtains, clothes, rugs, cross stitch, crochet, knit. I have Fibromyalgia & I try to stay busy when I can. These wonderful things I do are a bless from God. I try to have a goal of some sort for each day. If I reach that goal, I then try to push ahead to the next.
Everyone have a wonderful day & God bless.

I like to do both. Started out making our children's clothes. Now make all my husband's boxes as well as two grandsons and one grandson-in-law. Not into complicated stuff though.

I sew as well as quilt. However, I've recently started turning down requests for mending and alterations. I don't mind doing them for my other half and I, but just don't want to sew for others anymore. Just getting old I guess...
