I have been wondering if most people that quilt also do other types of sewing as well? I do a lot of different types of sewing as well as quilting and enjoy it all.

I started sewing making clothes, toys, pillows and curtains. Never thought about quilting until I found out you could do it with a machine. That's what got me started.

Never knew anything about stitching, sewing or sewing machines before I decided to start quilting. Now I can quilt, but still can't sew. even a pin cushion is too much sewing for my skills, lol. I would like to learn however.

In my teens and twenties I made most of my own clothes. These days I mostly quilt but will make simple garments from time to time. The days of sewing my own business suits are well and truly over.

I started sewing quilts a year ago...love it...I would like to learn more about sewing other things to. I have finally started a charm bag and hope to finish it this weekend. I have also started making pillows to go along with my quilts. Rice bags (How I love the rice bags). I do not sell anything...I just love to make things to give to my family and also for me and the hubby. Oh...I forgot my kitties and granddogs too....

I have been sewing since I was 15 making clothes and other projects. Then for awhile I taught sewing lessons to young girls (ranging from 10-18). I have done alterations, bridesmaid and wedding dresses and slipcovers. I have landed on the quilting now and do that primarily. Although I recently made hubby some jeans.....hadn't done that before, but he wears them all the time so guess they turned out okay! LOL

I started out by making halloween costumes. After making so many princess costumes, I realized that I could easily sew Easter dresses for my daughters. Did that for years. Then found quilting. I've made curtains, pillows, pillow cases with left overs or reject blocks that didn't make it into the quilt. I've also made flower girl dresses for my girls and a dress for older girl for a ball. In the Ukrainian culture, there's a big dance when the girls dress up and boys wear tuxes when they're all 15 or 16 years old.
