fryguy your blacks are so well balanced with other colors and the blocks look so vivid and striking.
Kudo's to everyone who has reached this wonderful watering hole on the ride.

Oh fryguy those blocks are spectacular! Yes, when they go up on a display wall (or grouped together) you can really get an idea of the colors you need to work with. I had not put mine up until I took the photo, but I'm leaving them up so when I start a new block I can see what color/fabric I need to add to the mix.

    QNSUE..great jobs...quilting and posting.

Fryguy...black works well with all colors and is easy to go to. Still enough blocks to make that they can be spread out to balance with other colors.

First I want ta say that I'm not happy with this block. The contrast is wrong & it won't lay flat! I also scorched some of the starch when I put these borders on.

I use moleskin for my 1/4 inch 'cause I haven't got a 1/4 inch foot for this machine. (A 401A)

This picture & the next show where the 1/4 place is on the walking foot.

This one shows exactly where the fabric lines up with the mole skin.

I can see where the edge of the fabric is supposed ta be through the opening in the foot.

Press the fabric with the tiny border open.

When you have the next border (blue in this case) on the block you line the first stitch line with walking foot 1/4 inch spot.

Another view so you can git the idea.

Press both sides open & trim the seam allowance ta 1/4.

    Tada!

Dubib...love the look that the 1/4 inch stip gives. Using your presser foot and then trimming the fabric is genius. Thanks for having something to look at with my morning coffee. Tuesday is a very slow day with the ponies!

I love that 1/4 inch border. I never would have thought to do that. It seems like is would show my errors more.

I hope more people post their pictures. I love looking at what everyone has done so far!
