I am new to sewing and quilting, and this is the first thing that I made on my Singer 99k hand crank machine.

My machine is wonderfully un-intimidating to use. After years of being scared of electric machines, I am discovering an unexpected love of creating with fabric!

Mellifera, That's a very pretty table runner! I like the multi color thread that you used with the batik fabric. I like the look of both sides. I too prefer using a non electric machine for sewing. Enjoy your 99 HC! Looking forward to seeing more of your works.

I too have a 99 with a hand crank, and my grandkids love to use it for the very reason that they are kind of intimidated by electric machines! I like your table runner very much...batiks are one of my favorites.

Mellifera, your batik tablerunner is gorgeous. 'Course I love bright anything and the multi color thread is terrific.

Here is the Drunkard's Path I finally finished on my 401A. Between having to change the backing and batting three times, repair a corner or the quilt that the dog chewed when I put it in the closet unfinished because I was frustrated and then trying to shove the quilt throught the tiny 401 hole to get it quilted, I ended up buying a 201. (At least that's my excuse for the purchase and I'm sticking to it).

Ignore the dog. It was early and she wouldn't get off the bed. Besides she thinks all the quilts on that bed are hers.

ArizonaKAT - lovely quilt, and top marks for not giving up! All those mishaps are way beyond my tolerance level.

Mellifera - really cheerful colours, and nice to see someone else using a 99K hand machine. They are so totally unscary. Everyone should have one.
