Default Mary's South of the Border.. On it's way Home :)

Mary has sent me several boxes with quilt tops.. So over the next few weeks you will be seeing a lot of quilts being posted... Mary said do what you want.. but this one will be going into a show this September...

I outlined all the applique lots of pebbling, small little motifs and leafs.. i made a scalloped feather border around with small meandering..
We used two layers of Hobb's 80/20 batting.. It is white on white fabric with 12,000 yards of white thread... I have 168 hours into this beautiful quilt...

It has been awhile since I have posted anything so I hope I do this right. I have 3 or 4 pics to upload.. so please be patient... and thanks bunches for looking

Well that is sure a beauty. Wish I could see more close up's of this quilt. The quilting is very nice and it's such a pretty quilt. How is quilting with 2 layers of batting.

Actually it is very easy to use two layers of batting... It helps make everything pop and the places you need to stand out.. they are standing out...

I posted 5 pics but I only see 4... Oh yes.. and the date on my camera is wrong.. !!!!

beautiful work. i'd hate to ask how much 168 hours of work is worth! that one looks like a winner.

Gorgeous work! My kind of quilting, for sure. That is a LOT of hours but it shows. I love using double bats. It really makes a huge difference in getting motifs to pop. Green Fairy has gotten to the point where she always does it now. I know for my own quilts I will only do double and will recommend it to clients if they really want that extra wow factor. You did an outstanding job on this. I hope it does well at the show.

Really love your choice of quilting..doesn't overpower the applique..sets it off beautifully
