    beautiful quilts.....I usually don't care for the quilts that people make with the really long strips, but the shorter lengths make a huge difference in"mixing things up"

    Great idea and it does make the quilt more interesting. I am going to try this on the next jelly roll. Thanks I also like the idea of putting a square in between as gollytwo suggested. Always learning new ideas but will I run out of time?

    Welcome from another fellow Texan. We have been here for so long, I feel like we are native to the state.
    I really do like your friends idea of cutting the strips. You're right, it does make a nicer scrappy look. I think I will be doing that with my next jelly roll quilt I make. Keep up the great work!!
