Default Thanks for Silly Frugality Thread

Recently there was a thread discussing how many things quilters will use way past the time we should replace them. Rotary blades kept coming up. Almost everyone agreed they used them too long and then wondered why because life got so much easier when they were replaced.

After spending yesterday chewing through fabric I decided all those posters where right. Just replace the darn thing! If quilting isn't fun, why do it and chewing your way through 60 quilt block is not fun. So I have in a new blade. Things are all much more square, my wrist isn't tired from pressing so hard and everything is going faster.

Thanks for the reminder that cheaper isn't always the way to go.

I know I don't expect DH to ever use a dull saw, lawnmower, knife, ax or chainsaw blade or a worn out tool. His tools do not take priority over my tools.

I think it is time for me to change my blades too! Thanks for reminder.

I try to do it at minimum when the clocks change.

Speaking of penny wise but pound foolish: don't drive to a gas station 8 miles away to save 2 cents per gallon. Getting there and back eats up gas money and time. Surprising how many people don't realize this.

Remember too, a dull blade is more dangerous to use than a sharp one. You are pushing harder, usually going back and forth, etc. Dangerous. A fresh, sharp blade is smoother and safer. Just like a kitchen knife! Sharper is better.

If a few dollars will save me time I opt to pick time over money saved. I'm not cheap I'm just lazy.
