I am a sugar artisit aka cake decorator. I own two 4 1/2 qt and one 5 qt KA mixers. Love them. We got one for a wedding present and I worked it like a dog for years before it gave out. And we've been married for 31 years.

I love my Kitchen Aid mixer. It is a time saver and easy to clean. I just got the pasta attachment and it has been so fun to play with. Cooking is almost as fun as quilting, so gotta have all the good toys! If it is a good price, go for it.

Dear Dotty, my daughter asked me the other day why I never made beautiful Christmas cookies like this year when she was a child. I said because I didn't have a Kitchen Aid mixer! I was married for 44 years before I got mine. Boy was I mad that I never got one sooner. I love mine! Now I make bread, cakes, cookies and mashed potatoes are to die for. So I say definitely get one. You will never regret it.

I have had the basic almond one for years and love it. It is one of the few old standards that are still built with the same high quality in materials used and performance still on the market. Too bad we don't have more such products out there.

My NEW MIXER HAS JUST ARRIVED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness she looks lovely on my kitchen work surface - I have the red one and the quality is amazing. Must give her my first "run" when I have chosen a recipe. My youngest DD is 33 today and we are just about to go out to lunch with her. I will let you know how my FIRST recipe goes later.
Thanks again to all who have replied - you are all obviously very happy with yours.
