I finally sat down & did the math. Queen size is about 400 fabrics. When I cut 20 sets (200 fabrics) for the swap I cut 20 sets for myself, so I really only need to swap 20 sets. If I need more I have more FQs to make up the difference on my quilt.
Cutting for three swapsright now: this 2.5", Mariposa's 1.5" (done), and a 2" for another site. Just didn't see the point in ironing & cutting one swap at time!

Please forgive me for cancelling 10 sets! Will mail Monday or Tuesday of next week. Sending Fraew PM.

My packages are ready to mail...and I have a great idea for how we can all thank our wonderful hostess....I am going to let her keep one of my sets...so since I am sending 30 sets, you only have to send back 29 to me and keep an extra one for yourself all this effort....it is a small way I can thank you for all the work you are doing to organize and manage this swap....maybe a few others will do the same and this will give you a nice set of extra squares for your own scrappy quilt...I do appreciate you leading this swap...THANK YOU

Yay me! Thank you JudyVA and others that have been sending gifties. Certainly appreciated but not required. We need support and encouragement the same as any group / community. I'm glad doing a little something just for us.

Just figured out the size I want to do and this is what I came up with....If a quilt is to measure let's say 50x70... that's 25 2.5" squares across for the 50" width...you need 35 2.5" squares for the 70" length...so you multiply 25x35 and you come up with 875 2.5" squares....now I know there are the odd # of squares to start off with & the sides but to round it up you need to divide the 875 by 5 to get the # of sets needed...which would be 175 sets rounded up....not pieces... I think this is right....

I really love that Mamaskeeto's and mine arrived together. She's my guild president and the one responsible for me joining the board

Looks like everyone has been working hard. I'm glad mine arrived safe. The package was pretty full. I can't wait to get the return pieces. I better get busy and finish the baby quilt I'm working on so I can work on these when they come.
