I also keep getting renewal notices for magazines. They are from the magazine itself, just after I've subscribed. I've noticed that some were for considerably more than I had paid for the magazine, so maybe they're from a different outfit. I just threw away two expensive "renewals" for magazines I had subscribed to but were too expensive for me. I haven't gotten any threatening notices. Besides, the recourse for the magazine is to cancel the subscription if you don't pay. That should be sufficient. I receive far more "renewal" notices than I subscribe to magazines.

I got one today, a renewal notice for a magazine I have never subscribed to previously. Shame on them for trying to fool people, I imagine lots of folks do get fooled.

I had a renewal notice and telephoned to check my previous subscription was finished as I couldn't remember exactly which month it began. Fine old one would end and new begin. For the last 3 months I have been receiving 2 copies in separate envelopes by the same post. They are only taking out 1 month payment.

I also get those fake renewals. Even for magazines I never got. They make it seem like it's time to renew on a magazine you never got and then charge you outrageous prices. How dumb do they think we are ???

I just got one yesterday for a quilting magazine that I don't even subscribe to. I tossed it in the garbage so glad I didn't fall for that scam.

What I hate is when I do subscribe to a magazine and they start immediately trying to get me to extend for another year at a higher price. No more. I'll read my catalogues.

You need to report these companies to your state authorities. Just ignoring the statement or throwing it away does not solve the problem. These people need to be stopped!

    Cool scam"

I received 2 of these scams so far this year. I write cancel & return to sender. This is so aggravating, but, I only reply when it is the magazine itself sending me a renewal notice. barb

Years ago a magazine I was getting kept sending renewal notices and I kept paying for them. Finally I read the label and found I had subscriptions paid up for 5 years. I let all my subscriptions expire and now I don't get any. If I want one bad enough I will pay the newsstand price.
