Tammi, VintageMotif, and IrishRose, your quilting is wonderful! I really should put more effort into the quilting. And I admired your beautiful quilting too Nanna on the sashing on your fishy quilt.

Default Pieced with my 1951 Singer Featherweight

I just finished this memory quilt using my 1951 Singer Featherweight. I picked it up in AZ while visiting my father-in-law this spring. The quilt was made for a friend, from her late husband's shirts. I delivered it to her tonight...in time for her to wrap up in, as she remembers him tomorrow on what would have been his birthday. (A lady from one of my quilt groups quilted it.) I love that little Featherwieght...she sews like a dream!
I used Bonnie Hunter's free pattern called, 'Bricks and Stepping Stones'...i love that pattern and it was perfect for this quilt. She told me tonight that as she looks at the quilt she can remember different things he would have said about some of the shirts and things he said when he wore them.

Hispatchwork, love your quilt and the idea of using his shirts. I made a memory quilt once and I know what she means when she looks at a piece and can remember something about that shirt.
