Love your quilt! I want to make one using blue and orange for my nephew who will be going to Carol College in Wisconsin. I may use black as you talked about in your post. Do you think I need a fourth color or a blue/orange print for one of the squares? If there are any other specific directions I'd appreciate it.

Sometimes the simplest patterns are the prettiest and yours is no exception. Thanks for sharing your pic AND instructions.

Good question. It took a lot of white, but I used a duvet, so I can't say exactly how much. Between 4-6 yards, I'd guess.

With the black, (I'm working on now), I'll have a better idea as it is regular fabric. and I can give a better estimate as I cut 1.5" strips. i can let you know that when I post the black one.
I realized I didn't answer your question about the cost of fabric. I can get solid color cottons at about 20-22 zl/meter. That is approximately $7/meter. A meter is 39".

I checked the information into EQ 6 and found out that the white takes 5.5 yards of 40" fabric.

They would certainly be striking colors!

I have so much floral fabrics and this is just absolutely how I will use some of that fabric. Sometimes it's GREAT to make quilts that don't take a lot of concentration!

Your quilt is just so inspiring! Thanks for posting your picture, EQ layout and instructions!
