It's at $600 now. 23 bids and a little over 4 hrs to go. If only I could be that lucky, but then I'd have to sell one first.

Rodney; I'd be happy to get $10 for some of mine given that I just bought a on new one and in a cabinet. Will pick up on Wednesday and hope to post pictures soon after that. It is a Bernina 730 Record - vintage and a sweet cabinet. tested before purchased.

PS ~ it's a combo present for anniversary, Valentine's Day & my birthday. I consider my DH to be off the hook now. Those 3 days are less than a month apart in my life.

Private listing? Probably some funny business involved. Who would legitimately pay that much for a 201?

It looks like most of that sellers machines go for abnormally high prices.

The 201 was up for sale last week and didn't meet the reserve at $405.00

so this is a relisting - seller has high expectations and it appears that they are getting what they hoped for........ guess it's all about what someone is willing to pay for the product

Maybe these are the "new" "hot" "gotta have it" machines - Here's another 201 - nice "sought after" cabinet - no takers yet but how much??

something to think about. you have an item/items to sell, " create a market "

todays world . wal mart. you buy cell phones with internet access, good one is $40,,, buy 4, do all the shill bidding you want for 1 to 2 months and toss the phone

We saw an episode of "Sherlock" the other night, they had private auctions where you would bid on a dresser for instance, that had something truly valuable in the photo with it. You were actually bidding on the valuable item and $1 equaled $1000 or something like that.

LOL! Maybe someone saw something in the photo they thought was really valuable?
