My sewing machines have 2 types of feet -- small and huge. I have boxes with the smaller compartments for the smaller feet and had to go to larger boxes for the bigger feet. Unfortunately, the ruffle and circle attachment need plastic bags and hang on pegboard hooks so I can see them easily.

I don't have the circle attachment, but yes the ruffle foot and the walking foot which were difficult to store in the same box as the regular feet.

I decided on divided parts boxes from Home Depot much like the tackle boxes for fishing. My drawers in the Horn sewing center are shallow so whatever I used needed to be under 2" in height. Now I'm organized and I'm not worrying about a foot getting lost or dropped into the waste basket by mistake when digging for a foot. It's amazing to me how expensive some of these feet are but considering the science in making precise equipment for individual machines is what makes them so expensive.

Thanks one and all for your tips!

I thought I was the only one in the world that was not in love with the cute Bernina storage box - I gave mine away and use the same plastic box as you do - I can see every foot at a glance as I have marked each little compartment - also its double layered so lots of room for all the extra feet I just had to have!!!

I bought at a rummage sale the old spice holders that spin, I took off all the inner plastic covers with holes on them, the feet slide right in each little spice bottle. You can see each foot and they are close to machine to get at.

Love your quote! It sure did make me stop & think, then start saying thank you to Him for His goodness. Reminds me of the song, "God is good."

I don't know if this has been posted or not but I bought one of these for each of my machines. I cannot upload pics right now so I am giving link to Dollar Tree website. http://www.dollartree.com/Plastic-Co...2679/index.pro I found mine in the tool section of Dollar Tree. They can also hold needles or bobbins or buttons or.... a lot of good uses for $1

I have a clear view pencil case type bag which I keep extra feet for each machine in. Small label on bag showing which machine feet fit. Being see through no trouble in finding correct foot.
I made the bags using PVC from Dunelm which is designed for covering tables. It is softer than the clear stuff quilter shops sell oh and cheaper.

I have several machines, so each machine has a small plastic box just for that machine's accessories.

I knew I needed some organization when I stepped on one of my feet in the carpeting. I must have lost it while "organizing" my work area.
Keep my feet for my brother in a glass box with a pretty beaded lid that DD gave me yrs ago...powder long gone.

I have one ofthese. I just marked the bottom of the little cubicle with a permanent marker for each piece that goes in it. Dh marks his or the different screws and nuts and bolts.
