Default Amy Butler Weekender Travel Bag is done!

Been wanting to make one of these for the longest time. It's a great bag but the pattern is very wonky. I was forever adjusting pieces to make them fit. It's very, very thick and stiff, plus has covered piping, so it's NOT FUN to sew. My daughter wants me to make one for her friend who is moving away, but I'm not looking forward to it! I will, however, enjoy having this bag for my short weekend trips. It's huge and will easily hold stuff for a weekend. It's serious luggage!

Well done on sticking with a difficult pattern....the result is lovely.

It looks the perfect weekend away bag.

You did a great job on it, and the piping looks wonderful. Maybe it's time to teach the daughter to make her own gifts...

My friend sewed one of these and used a lighter interfacing. It still turned out great.

Edited: Thimblebug, thanks for that link. I plan on making one of my own in the near future.

I love that you used her fabrics to make the bag. It made it so authentic! What a great weekender to take with you on visits.
