Do you mean mitered borders or binding? I like the tutorials at http://ankastreasures.wordpress.com

You might take a look at this video from Eleanor Burns. I usually baste my border corners, then press the seam open and see if the seam runs exactly down the 45 degree line. Then I can adjust it or if it is perfect, I then stitch it with normal stitch length.

Check out the "ULTIMATE BINDING TUTORIAL" on the Missouri Star Quilt Company website. And, while you are there, check out several of Jenny's other tutorials.

I learned from the 4-part series by McCall's Quilting.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Hha94oe3XA

It goes through everything in great detail & without suggesting you need to buy all sorts of expensive binding tools in order to accomplish a beautiful binding. If you have an acrylic ruler, a pair of scissors & a threaded needle, you can make a beautiful mitered binding with this tutorial.

If you'd prefer to do the whole thing by machine, rather than hand-finishing the binding, Quilty has a good video on how to start:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6fnAvuUBHA

Sewing with Nancy shows how to machine finish (unfortunately, while plugging a bunch of the tools she sells). Skip to minute 5:30 to just get the info about machine stitching down the binding to finish it off.
