This worked to remove a Sharpie from our flat screen tv screen. Cover the marks with a dye eraser marker and that ink will absorb the permanent mark and wipe off. Worked like a charm to clean the scribbles from the tv screen that DH though was toast.

I use rubbing alcohol to remove permanent marker from my plastic plant labels that I want to use for the next year...but I stick them in a glass and let them soak overnight...don't know how well it would work just using it.
