Has anyone doing scrappy considered using a single purple per unit for clue #4?

Cotton Boll ended the 8th of January I think. I don't mind the clues being broken down a bit more so the mystery lasts longer.

Is anyone old enough to remember when President Jimmy Carter did (gasp!) an interview for Playboy magazine? Of course playboy probably skewed the questions toward sex, but I'll never forget him saying lusting in the heart was pretty much the same level sin as lusting for real. I'm sure i cobbled that all up, but I've said all that to say...

I can't look at all the shared photos without lusting in my heart for everyone's scraps.

If anyone wants to offload scraps I'll be happy to pay priority mail shipping

I'm all caught up, but it is only because I'm making quarter size...

I love seeing your layouts, Kassaundra!
I definitely was complaining and I know it! I was annoyed. I just need to stop reading her blog. I don't need to know so much about her life that I can be critical.

In case anyone thinks I'm just a whiny "taker", I should say that I have bought lots of her books and products and given her support for years.

Of course I have tons of other things to work on. Doing only a half sized quilt this time, I'm knocking my clues out on the first day. Regular quilting continues the other six...

Kass, love your layouts, too. I always love people's guesses. Those spike and peaky blocks are good for so many designs.

I couldn't find my post so I am re entering it
Was happy that this weeks step was only 80 Tri Rex blocks. All done and plan on wrapping gifts this weekend. I am looking forward to working with the yellows and greens. I am so enjoying all the variations of possible blocks.

Today's lesson: Long thin strips from squaring up prewashed fabric are handy to make a bandage when you nick yourself with a rotary cutter.

It was nothing serious, just enough to draw a few drops of blood. I wanted to keep cutting and didn't want to take the time to go downstairs for a bandaid. Hope this means I've earned my quilter's badge

Interesting how the two blocks can look totally different just by switching the triangle's point around.

I will be doing just that. I plan to use the same neutral for all 80 of the units (just like I did on clue 2) and will do both sides of the unit using the same purple fabric instead of two different purples on each one. I like a little more "control" with my scrappiness.

Kassaundra, that red/black block is a winner! If we don't have the usual star, then let's go with that one!! :-) It's a thumbs up from me, I hope you've guess correctly!
KalamaQuilts, well, I didn't see the interview, but it's the Biblical idea presented-- that sinning inwardly is as grave as sinning outwardly.
    pennycandy, Ohhh, ouch! :-(

She is almost at the point where she needs to hire someone to handle the orders but she has always been able to do it herself up to now.
Add to that the stress of potential failing eyesight and selling the cabin retreat she dearly loves - it would be enough to make the most optimistic of us a tad bit whiney

Let's enjoy the free mystery sew-along and cut her some slack.
    Thank you.
