At first glance I thought buttons for sure. Then I read the other comments and think I like it without the buttons or with something smaller or something that blends a little more and does not detract from all the wonderful piecing and stitching that you have done. I think the idea of a pearl bead is nice.

I really couldn't decide whether to put the buttons on or not. It was very helpful to read all of your thoughtful comments. Thank you... I finally decided that I agreed with what anniep wrote the most.

Part of what appeals to me is what feline fanatic objected to. She called it "the country/primitive genre" mixed with "Victorian formality." I decorate my house with these types of mixed styles too.

I figured out how to attach the buttons with my sewing machine for the first time on this sample. Woo Hoo! That is a hugh accomplishment for me. I'm really happy with how this turned out. I'm going to hang it on the wall and start on the larger version now.

Normally, I dislike buttons on a quilt, but those buttons look fantastic.

Like the buttons! Also like the lacy edging you added instead of binding.

Without...your work is beautiful and some may think you are hiding an imperfection with the button. This is too, too pretty!
