    I would use the brown sashing with grey cornerstones.

    I wouldn't use either of them. There isn't enough contrast between the dark brown square and the dark brown sashing. And there isn't enough contrast between the grey squares and the light grey sashing.

    I would either try a blue that is darker than the blue block or one of the complementary orange colors in the beehive. I think the orange would probably look the best.

    I agree. Dark brown really sets it off. Of course if it is a baby girl, perhaps a softer color would be better.

    I'll be the odd ball, I'd use a color that is in the bee hive, more of a medium color. Thinking it would be the link to bring it all together. The brown is just too dark for me and not a fan of gray here. Just my two cents.

    The brown is a bolder statement while the grey is softer, but to me, either is good. Not much help I guess.

    I was thinking something similar; perhaps a narrow (3/4 to 1") border of the brown around each square then sashing with the gray.
    You could even add a brown cornerstone to the gray sashing to give a bit of that look without the extra work of making the full triple sashing with 9 Patch cornerstones.
