Shingles doesn't care! The ad is effective! I got my vaccination because of the horror stories! So sorry for anyone with this debilitating disease.
Today, I am adding the binding strips to the blocks from the video. I always make 1 completely from videos so I can fix any glitches in the instructions. I also write down the steps from the video to follow. That way, I don't skip or rearrange any steps.
The binding is thick in one corner where 4 lines converge. I need to reduce the bulk, but not very effective. These remind me of QAYG blocks.

First off: Condolences on the shingles. I only had a "mild" case and it was bad enough 
Short Form: Today I am doing some clean-up and reorganizing. I have a goal/need to get things done by Monday and really I don't have that much, just need to go downstairs and deal with things. I've been looking for a couple of months for a missing quilt book and some paper pieced diagrams I drew out and finally found them today! Hooray, I have a project I really do want to work on and I can now move forward. The book is still missing but what I really needed were the diagrams and I figured they would be together.
The long form: I bought a used non-computerized long arm almost 2 years ago and this was when my vision really started to fail... spent basically the year legally blind and unable to do much sewing and it didn't get set up. Now almost another year has gone by without the machine up but on Monday a little old lady quilting friend is going to come over and help me put the legs on the stand. The real issue is the frame is VERY heavy, is all solid welded steel and has hydraulic lifts for height. Because of the weight, attaching the legs is really a help with two people. She is pretty handy with a screw driver and I think we will also be attaching the hydraulic lift stuff too.
There is no way the two of us can pick the thing up or even the hubby and I, but I'll have the husband contact the nice young health club going neighbor and his roommate to see if they can come over for 5 minutes of pick up and flip. With the 3 guys (including hubby) and me, it should be pretty easy and can maybe be done on an evening next week. Once it is flipped upright hubby and I can get the bars up, and the head on the stand.
My husband is not super mechanically handy and we don't always work well together -- but we know this in advance. Sometimes we do better than others and we have to hope/plan on good days and timing and nothing else going wrong or being more interesting. But getting this up and going has been on both our minds. LOL I really want to get some of my tops out of the bin.

One of my dear sewing group members turned 90 years old last week. I'm make her a nice spring hexie bag using her favorite color purple. I've been fussy cutting purple floral fabric most of the day. She's an inspiration, lives alone, drives where she wants to go during daylight hours and does machine embroidery.

I'm working on a braided quilt . Have been working on getting my scraps under control. Don't laugh. I have always had scraps and many quilts made from them. WE always can hope they will be gone. One way is to give them way.
