Basement window curtains would be a good place to try several patterns to see if you like them before making a big quilt with them. Who says they all have to match?

Hello and Welcome to the board :D:D:D

Here is a curtain that one of our members made

http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-28426-1.htm

You can add batting if you need to keep the cold/heat out, or just a backing and quilt without any batting. It is your choice

I am pretty much a self taught quilter, too, and am just constatntly learning on this website from all the talented people who hang out here. I can't wait to see pics of your curtains!
