in Britain, the glass balls were used as fishermen's floats in the days before plastic ones. Love the fabrics.

Do you live in the Bend area? If you went to Salem via Hwy 22, you passed my house! I live in Lyons.
I LOVE going to Craft Warehouse, as I can't always make it in to downtown Salem to the quilt store. CrftWhse has a really good selection of fabrics for such a small area.

That's what they are here in Oregon as well...It's a float for a fishing net...a reproduction of one....rarely you will find them on the beach, the old antique ones. They were heavily used in Japan on the fishing boats, and most that wash up on the beach will be from the Japanese boats...

Nice haul Hawk!! You got some GREAT stuff there! :)

I ordered some more of the peace sign fabric. I am going to make myself a quilt out of it.
