Here is bag #2 - made in 1 hr, 15 minutes. I enlarged the pattern by 125%, which just fit neatly onto 8.5 '' x 11'' paper.

It looks a bit lumpy as it is all stuffed full of my purse stuff!

Heather, this is so cute! Thanks for the link. I downloaded the free pattern....the bag pattern seems small. Does the pdf not download at original size or is this cutey just small?

Heather, was so excited to get to making this bag!!! I downloaded before checking the rest of this thread. Now I understand and will also enlarge the pattern. This is going to be so much fun seeing everyones fabric choices and embellishments.

It is small. I made it a 2nd time and I enlarged the pattern to 125% which is a better size.

With the original bag, I could barely fit my wallet in - although I do have a huge wallet. It would be a good evening bag, though.

Here's one i msde my sister for mothers day. I cut it 1 inch bigger all the way around, made the strap longer, put 2 pockets inside & used D rings for the strap:
