Try this to prevent flies from coming into your house. Fill a quart plastic freezer bag about 1/2 full of water and close bag. Hang this bag on a nail near your back door (the one you use the most but would not hang near front door). Flies won't come into your house!

Several years ago, I attended the "Great American House Party" in Philadelphia, MS with my daughter and a friend. It is a compound of cottages/homes that are used a few weeks a year - mostly around 4th of July. These residences have a history and are family owned - handed down from generation to generation. Camping dwellings, in other words. The owners open their homes to everyone who comes along and offers them refreshments, conversation, friendship - Mississippi style. It was a wonderful experience.

To make a long story short, I kept seeing these bags of water hanging beside the doors and asked why they were there. They told me to keep out the flies! Sure enough, no flies were inside!

You might want to try it to see if it works for you!

I have tried the pepper, vinagar, bleach, and Borax. Even tried something called Terror from the lumber store! They loved the Terror (it attracted more) ignored the bleach, pepper, and vinagar. They are so bad in our area that everyone is going nuts about them. They come right through the screens around the tub and nest in the walls I think. The bait traps don't work and I have to be carefull of borax around the kittens. Thank goodness I don't have a fly problem! LOL My house smells like a diner but the only thing that it doesn't bother is the ANTS!!!

If you hang a bag of water above your door, this will stop flies from coming in. they don't like water. get a clear freezer bag, fill it with water, and have someone hang it over your door for you. and please be careful with the hair spray. God bless. Penny

A ziplock bag with some water and 4 or 5 pennies in it really works. put them by the windows or doors. The reflection of the sun on the pennies and the magnification caused by the water hurts their eyes. I know! now get up off the floor and stop laughing and try it.
