I had more than my share of luck this past week. Had met & visited w/ a lady while waiting at VA. She mentioned she had 5 big bags of scraps that family of a lady she had LAQ for gave her. She doesn't piece, she just does quilting. They were free to anyone coming to get them. Of course my ears suddenly had no wax in them. Told her I'd be there. Drove about 100 mi. to pick them up. Not 5 but 8 lawn bags. Have sorted and tossed what I could not be used. Rest will need cleaning & ironing, but BOY will I have fun. Now to learn how to use my embroidery machine & no one will know I'm living here. LOL

Another LQS has a 20% sale going on for the weekend too, that one is a little bit further away, won't be able to drive there..
Sure hope your knee gets better fast. I didn"t have much luck with mine, hurts more now than before surgery!
I'm sorry to hear that!!!! I hope it continues to heal!!! I had a lot of repair done to my right shoulder in November. As of about 5 weeks ago it has been going downhill again. It has me scared, I have no clue how I tore the Labrum in the first place and I wonder if I tore it again or if I have a screw (loose) that may have come out..... I don't know. I have not done anything to injure in since surgery, I am very careful about what I lift and do (except a small fall on the stairs 3 weeks after surgery) If it is injured again, it is from working on the computer at work.
Anyway, I'm praying that my knee will let me walk again without a lot of pain. I pray that yours gets better too!!!
What is LQS?

I did mine yesterday. A dear friend used to own a quilt shop and when she closed it she kept all the fabrics, patterns, books, notions, etc. and this weekend she had a big yard sale. Wonderful stuff for next to nothing. She is going to have another sale in a few weeks so I have a little time to save up some more money.

Today my husband and myself took a drive from our house heading north to the thumb. I live in MI. There is a fantastic quilt shop about an hour north in Marlette, MI that we stopped at. I have been making him a quilt and needed backing. They were having a sale 30% off, plus I had a frequent flyer card good for $25 of free anything. Soo we found backing and material to make a Mariner's Star to go on the back of his quilt. The front will have lighthouses and nautical flags. I will post a picture as soon as I'm finished. As we drove back going around the lake there is another store we HAD to stop at in Harbor Beach. Of course now they had a "Sweet Pea" print and greens to go with them. I was looking for this two years ago for a baby quilt. that was the color my daughter had wanted for the baby. Oh well, I bought some to make mommy a table runner. It was an awesome day. Weather in the 80s, hubby helping and a great way to spend Memorial weekend.

Yes..I went shopping with a friend after my quilt class today. I finally found my green material that I needed to finish my Christmas Angel quilt that I couldn't find last year. So that was a major big deal to me today. YAY!!!! I also got some more Batik FQ's, a new quilt pattern and the quilting calculator at Joann's for 50% off.

My hubby went to VA for the weekend and sent me a picture of another Treadle sewing machine when he went antique shopping. Don't know if he got it or was just playing with me. I guess I'll find out on Monday. What a booger!!!

Will probably go to JoAnn's on tomorrow or Monday as I need to pick up 2 yards of light weight black to finish by sister's valances I am making for her. Other than that I just made a trip to Oklahoma and picked up a shopping bag home of pieces and yardage. Really hit the jackpot in Antler, Oklahoma - Betsy's has about 5000 bolts of fabric -had a ball looking and picking! Came out with $99.98 worth of fabric - most on sale otherwise is would have been over 150.
