I was raised in South Texas and grew up barefoot, especially at the beach! When we went shopping and to church we did wear shoes!

I agree with the statement that I can't control the foot pedal if I have shoes on. Barefoot for me.

Because I go in and out so much, I need something on my feet, so went to a dollar store, bought pkg. of 8pr ankle sox for about $5, and wear these all the time unless I leave home. They last forever and are cheap enuf to replace when need be.

Don't know what the big deal is if you sew barefoot or not, it's all about your comfort isn't it?

[quote=GrammaNan]I never wear shoes indoors. I have have problems with my feet ever since I was a little girl.

Before reading anymore, I have this to say.
I am always barefoot when sewing.
Even when I go to classes at Bernina my shoes are off.
Might go back when I was a child and never wore shoes except when I had to. If some do not like it, that is their problem. They should try it. They might like it.
Seems you have more control of pedal or maybe that we are relaxed and whoever heard of shoes on when relaxing.

  Sharon, we must be related. Hate shoes and bra's! Only put them on if I'm going out. I can't sew even with slippers on. I just don't have the *feel* on my foot pedal.
