I *DO* have a question though. Has anybody ever quilted the top and back separately? I had this crazy thought of quilting the top separately from the back. I don't want the quilting pattern on the front to interfere with what I envision for the quilting on the back. Can you quilt the two of them separately and the join them together? The two, I was thinking, could be joined by either invisible thread here and there (sort of like tying) or use embroidery thread or regular thread that will blend in.
Any comments? Suggestions?

I think this might be how the back will look (if done right). Wish me luck on this project! Of course the background in the picture won't be that large but when I copied it , it enlarged it.

Another option might be to use braid to sew along the border. A couple of the options might be these. a couple of rows of them or a row on the inside as an inner border or something. I'm just tossing out ideas to see if they take root or not. By putting them here, I know I'll be able to refer back to them.
