Posey Bell - I had to look at your blocks and they are beautiful! As far as the size the ones that are close to 12.5 is it a matter of pressing? You just might get them to 12.5. The 12 inchers might be to small for those that are putting blocks together. Sometimes you can cut down others blocks but if there are points you will loose the beauty of the block. Really don't know what to say on those. It can be frustrating-but remember to do a scant seam that way they come closer to the correct size. Beautiful work!

Dagny, I will be sewing the block Towers of Camelot from Quilters Cache. To start with will you mark me down for 1 set. I am interested in doing two sets but will see if I can meet the deadline with the second set! Sorry it's taken me so long to jump in and decide. I've been trying to finish my landscaping in the front of my house but Oregon is just having too much rain this year! I've been dodging rain drops to work on that project but I give up for a few days again. I'm sewing-I'm back inside now!

Thanks for posting a pic of the received blocks to date! Everyone is doing a beautiful job. It makes it more exciting everyday!

3 of them are significantly smaller (closer to 12).
    2 are just under 12.5".

Not sure why some of them are smaller. This was a new pattern for me...first time working with triangles and the outcome has been frustrating. I like the way they look, but the sizing issue....ARGH!

I am running out of fabric and time! I completely understand if less than 12.5" at all is not acceptable, just looking for some guidance.

Posey Bell, a 12" block will probably not be acceptable when we've committed to 12" finished size. I agree, though, with Wine Woman, that you should see if they can be pressed out flatter to try to improve sizing issues. We'll all keep our fingers crossed for you.

Ok, I'll see what I can do.

Thanks for the advice, and thanks for the compliments, Wine Woman.

Ummm I'm kinda leaning to joining in on this swap, but any of you who have made blocks from quilter's cache when they say a 12in block do they come out ast 12.5" unfinished? or do they come out as 12" unfinished?????

They come out at 12 1/2" unfinished. So any quilterscache 12" block design is suitable for this swap because the 12" refers to the FINISHED size (either surrounded by sashing or other blocks). I did Geese All Around. Just have 3 more to go and I am ready to ship.

They come out as 12.5" unfinished, which is what you need. But remember, with any Quilter's Cache block, you must use a very scant 1/4" seam or the block will end up too small.

    Thanks!
Your blocks are beautiful. Blocking the blocks will also help the ones that are shy of 12 1/2" into submission. If you have a cork bulletin board or your ironing board will work well. Pin the block to the board, stretching and pulling where necessary to get it to 12 1/2". I usually pin opposing corners then all around the sides. Then take a spray mist bottle and mist the entire pinned (blocked) block with water. Allow to totally air dry pinned. Once you unpin the block from the board it should be a solid 12 1/2" and behaving itself quite nicely. You should be able to do this with blocks up to a 1/4" shy of the 12 1/2" square but anything more then that may not work. I use a cork bulletin board and have marked the 12 1/2" square with my square ruler on the board with sharpie pen. Then when I block all I have to do is line up my block edges with the drawn line. Good luck!

Yes I have found that even the paper pieced block is coming out about a 1/16" to 1/8" shy but blocking my finished blocks has them coming out perfect.
