The dark blue is not really traditional, but I really love it. When I do things that remind me of those that passed on, I always feel a mixture of sad and nostalgia. Enjoy the feelings!

I guess I am different than the others, lol, OK, I KNOW I am different... but I love all of them. Why can't you use all the different colors for backgrounds? And perhaps add an offwhite/beige tone on tone too. Then you could alternate them across the rows. Each different background makes the Dresden look so different, I think it would look lovely with all 4 colors for background squares, and each one would show off your plates in a different way. I would go dark blue, dark green, light blue, off white, dark blue.
next row, dark green, light blue, offwhite, dark blue, dark green,
next row,.. so on.. or if you are only putting 4 across, DB, DG, LB, OW; NEXT ROW: DG, LB, OW, DB; NEXT: LB, OW, DB, DG; NEXT: OW, DB, DG, LB, ETC.

I like the the 1st one also. It just seems to set off the dresden plate. I am from Texoma land also, Alberta Creek area.

My first choice is the dark blue and second is the green. Great job that you are doing!

I really like the way the green background brings out the gold. IMO the blue print sorta washes out the other prints in the plate.

The plate is beautiful. Your grandmother is smiling down at you for the great job that you did. She is very proud of you, she taught you well. HUGS!

I like the first one - dark blue background - it really makes the colors pop out on the plate. Very nice!
