I saw some at Jo-anns that I bought at Walmart's at the same price difference.

I like to buy fabric from Mal-mart. I can find some of the same fabric ay Joann's. It just cost less at Mal-mart.

I used to find some great deals but both walmarts which are about 25 minutes away from me have stopped selling material.

This is my first time posting something on this board, so hope I am doing this right. I bought fabric at Wal Mart for the backing on my first quilt (a queen sized double wedding ring) and washed the fabric first. I think it turned out really nice. I got a little heavier cotton, but I hand quilted the whole thing, and it wasn't too thick.

Depends, if I like the pattern and it ain't to thin and not to pricey I will buy. If I really like the pattern I might buy what's left on the bolt.
Depends to how big a wad I got with me.

I was in a quilting class and that is what we were told. Sometimes the dots have numbers on them. This will tell you how many processings this fabric goes through, numbers or dots it's the same. If a fabric has only 3 dots or numbers it's really not a good choice. Now if you see a fabric with 10 dots that a good fabric.

The Cranston VIPs aren't bad but after using material from the quilt shop it is hard for me to use their fabric. I wait til our hometown quilt shop has their big sales and then I go nuts and as I travel for work, I stop at any quilt shop I can find.

My Wal-Mart has downsized the fabric dept. but at least they still sell it. I purchase quite a bit of fabric from them and have never had any problems.
