Of course it did. It hurts more coming from your dad than from anyone else. I am so sorry that happened to you. I don't know how old your dad is or what medications he is on, but that was more than rude, it was cruel. Ask for it back, take him out to a nice lunch and give it to someone who will appreciate it. I think it is beautiful.

So sorry, I think you did a great job-looks nice. Maybe your father had something on his mind-maybe he was in a bad mood,or may something is bothering him, is he that way other times? I guess I would go get it and give it to someone who would be thankful to get a quilt, there are needy families out there or maybe a special child that needs a quilt.

I saw a billboard today thats something like "teach by what you do". I hope someday you can share with him how much he hurt you with his remarks and insensitivity.

You need to make a doctor appointment for him. Sounds like a brain tumor.

It must be difficult to have such an ungrateful heart. Pray for them. And try not to take the insult personally.

I am so sorry he didn't like it. I know it may sound corny; but your Father in heaven loved it. What a show of grace and faithfulness for you to do this for your Dad. You are a wonderful daughter. I can only imagine the time and effort it took. Bless you.

Sorry That your Dad was so cruel. Your work is beautiful. I would go & pick it up and give it to someone who appreciates it. Years ago I made a beautiful needlepoint eyeglass case lined in velvet for my MIL that I had worked on in my lunch hour at work. She took one look at it and said she did not like the fabric I picked. Hugs and put it behind you. Anne

I'm sorry you were hurt. Maybe, over time, he will keep seeing it and eventually realize that it came from you and you really tried to please him with it. Maybe he will thank you for it then. Don't let it get you down. You did it out of love, it isn't your fault if he is not gracious.

He sounds like my husband. what can i say...some people are not graced with sensitivity or good manners. YOU should feel proud for having done a beautiful job on a lovely wallhanging. Maybe someday dad will get his head straight, but maybe not, but you just keep doing what makes you feel good. Quilting is not about your dad. It is your creative outlet! Hang in there!

I think it is beautiful. Your father wasn't nice to tell you that. I am sure he is close to my age and I am sure he was taught better than that. Even if he didn't like it he should have appreciated the trouble you went thru to make it for him.
He should be grateful he has a daughter that cares enough to make it for him before she made anything for anyone else.
Lets hope he realizes how much he hurt you, if not remember you did your best and you can't control him.
