1. Before you take that first compulsive bite, go downstairs and quilt. (but don't skip or delay a planned meal for quilting)

2. Stop Before you get tired. (set a stopping point to prevent the "just one more row" that ends up with a sore back.

3. Take a step back and trust other people's suggestions (if I asked for feedback!).

4. If it isn't done in time for Christmas, birthday etc., that is ok, they'll know how much work I put into it.

5. DON'T ever again try to put 8 layers of fleece through the sewing machine, even for just 2".

It's ok to weep when you give a quilt away. Kinda like seeing a child go off to kindergarden or college.

It's ok to ask for suggestions and then do what YOU want.

Sew every day or it won't get done!!!!

Pictures of quilts are great tools to learn color theory but you don't have use their colors.

Lap quilts ARE quilts too.

1. do it my way
2. finish what I started, don't start anything I don't LOVE!
3. Buy the fabric if I just LOVE it even if I don't know what I'm going to do with it.
4.Stop buying fabric at garage sales just because its cheap. It won't get used if I'm not in love with it.
5. Always have chocolate near by to sooth nerves after having made a mistake.

Only work on 1 project at a time
Only buy the fabric you need
Make sure every seam & intersection is PERFECT
If you don't like it, well, you started it, you finish it
If someone spots an error, correct it immediatley
And always remember I never listen to my own advice!
