I've never purchased fabric at WalMart but I've seen tons of threads where people chime in that this store in such and such city and state still has a fabric dept. Is there an online listing that states which stores still have a fabric dept?

That would be a nice resource is there is, especially for those who are traveling/visiting in other areas :D:D:D

Well, the 3 close to me are shutting down. Laurel, Maryland is remodeling and no longer will carry fabric, in Columbia, Maryland it will be discontinued in September, I haven't been to the one in Elicott City, Maryland lately but the last time I was there they had less fabric than the one in Columbia.

Mattoon, Ill. and Marshall, Tx still have fabric.
Champaign, Urbana, Savoy, Paris, Danville, Illinois don't. Those are the only ones that I'm sure of.

I'd like someone to create a list so we can refer people to it instead of listing in all the threads what stores are still open vs. shut. It doesn't do much good and the threads get clogged with which store is open.. etc.

So, just so this doesn't happen with this thread too....does such a list exist and would someone volunteer to create a list(a big WalMart fan perhaps?). Then when threads start meandering off into the sunset we can link to this listing?

Okay, now that is irritating, the web site said

"Find Fabric at Your Local Wal-Mart Store

Fabric is not available online at Walmart.com, but you can find a full assortment of fabric and sewing supplies at your local Wal-Mart store."

Click the link, and it forwards the above page, but doesn't list fabric as a choice to look for!

I should have read your message before I tried it. I went through the exact same thing. It was frustrating!
