Oh my goodness! I'm sorry, but I'm still laughing at your story. What a great comeback you had. I know I wouldn't have handled it that well. I personally love to see my quilts displayed and used. If someone puts one of my quilts away to protect it, I know they hate it and want to hide it until they can get rid of it. Okay, so I'm paranoid....

I would be able to handle letting someone tell me off (although my feelings would be hurt probably) but no way would I be able to let someone ( stranger ) put their hands on me in anger. That is a whole different ball game! Nobody should have to put up with that. I sure don't know what is wrong with some people now days. I would of been tempted to call the police because there obviously was something wrong with her

I made a beautiful autumn leaves quilt for my aunt many years ago. It was all batik fabric with a swirling wind pattern in the quilting. I have never seen that quilt displayed in her home or used in any way. The last time I stayed the night in her guest room, I came across the quilt in a dresser drawer, just as perfect as the day I gave it to her. There was so much time, money, and effort put into that quilt. I would give anything to see her standing on it because at least she would be using it.

She's very lucky that you didn't knock her into another dimension. Actually, you handled the situation quite brilliantly I think. Thankul that she didn't injure you.

Having been in security most of my adult life, being married to a retired cop, and going through police academy myself, if she had grabbed me or one of my family members like that, well, one of us would most likely be in jail and the other in the hospital. If she had just come up and started her tirade, I would let her get it out and then let her know what is what, but to put her hands on you...

You handled it like a pro. In police jargon, verbal judo. (Do they still use that term?) Good for you and for her DH. Maybe she will learn.
