You have done beautiful work on both pieces. I really like the way you have used the gray. The quilt is going to be beautiful, Cannot wait to see the end result.

Okay--why is there not a cute little pinwheel where my squares meet? I've looked at it every such way and can't figure it out. I wanna pinwheel too!

Some of the 1st quilt's squares don't form the pinwheel either. You get it when the squares are all put together with dark alternating with light (where the big triangles come together in the corners).

That's funny, after admiring the overall pattern of your quilt, the next thing I saw were cute pinwheels. But after going back to the photo (after reading your comment) I realised that my brain was seeing a pinwheel that wasn't quite there.

The pattern looks good. I spent months looking for some grey fabric to go in a random stars quilt I'm planning. When I finally saw some grey at my local fabric store I pounced on it immediately, even though the shade and pattern weren't 100% what I wanted. It's been the hardest colour to find here in Melbourne.

Oh my, that IS pretty. Yes, gray is easy on the eyes. You are doing a wonderful job. Will this be queen size? Hope so. The bigger the better.
