OK I have a very stupid question. Why can't you quilt from the back instead of the front since the pattern on the front doesn't always match what the blocks are anyway?

Is it me? or am I just not getting the whole picture here? And to answer your question, No I have never done machine quilting nor have I done hand quilting, just hand tied quilts so far but I wanting to learn and I have to teach myself since I have no one the help me with that.

And yes I love your practice quilt. I just hope mine is half as good as yours.

When doing freestye free motion sewing, do you do onw block at a time and then move to the next and so on and so on. Then to the binding??? I was just wondering, this seems really fascinating to me.
