I wasn't sure about the ending of the movie until I saw your post. I remember when the movie came out millions(?) of quilters were screaming at the screen Pick Up the Quilt!!!!
I loved it.

Mary, I also saw the movie and as you said there is parts that I did not like, make me feel uncomfortable, but luckily I saw it alone, not with the husband and kiddies with me, but the "story" was very good and inspiring.

I bought American Quilt at the local video rental for $5, years ago. Money well spent. Want to find it on a DVD. The dragging scene made me want to reach through the TV and yank it away from Finn. After I calmed down, I realized that getting it a little soiled is better than it sitting on some closet shelf, unloved.

If it was urgent ;) ;) ;) she would have ran, instead she took her sweet old time walking down the dirt road draging the quilt.

And why was her boyfriend down that dirt road, why didn't he park in the driveway and sleep in the van there or better yet on the couch on the opened front porch?
She did run ! And I don't know why he slept where he did. I didn't write the movie script :D:D

I too watched this movie and it was excellent. Your quilt will be around after you are gone and it will be wonderful memories
