I am in the process of doing a red work top of sun Bonnet Sue as I love her. Its MUDDY brown colors that turn me cold
and almost caused me to quit quilting. Just feel terrible
for my Sun Bonnet Sue. Hung. Now the one with the yellow
sashes was beautiful. I see it takes all kinds

One of the girls in our guild, is Sunbonnet Sue Crazy. What a fun quilt to do for her as a gift. She would take it as a good joke too.

I looked at the Museum collection (had to increase size of images) & could really see them better. My Grandmother did SBSs & Turtles & I guess that's where I get my love for her & SB Bill or Sam or whatever name you call him. If my Grandmother could see this, she'd be turning over in her grave. SBS is dressed the way we were dressed back in 40s & 50s when we went to the gardens & cotton fields here in the South to keep the Sun off of our skin. I think there are so many cartoons out there that quilters could find something else to cartoon w/these sick ad lib jokes.

Yikes! I don't like SBS, but I don't hate her that badly, either! You must not like her in the least...LOL!
