IT IS A APPLIQUE BLOCK FROM A ROBERT CUNNINGHAM QUILT I DID. IT WAS MY FIRST APPLIQUE QUILT. I THOUGHT THAT IF I COULD GET IT DONE I SHOULD KNOW HOW TO APPLIQUE. IT TOOK ME 10 MONTHS TO MAKE THE QUILT, BUT I KNEW HOW TO APPLIQUE WHEN I WAS DONE. I HAVE BEEN APP. EVER SENCE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR VERY NICE COMMENT.

THIS WAS MY FIRST SCRAPE QUILT!

NO THIS WAS A BLOCK OF THE MONTH. I HAD TO PICK OUT ALL THE FABRIC I USED 250 DIFFERENT FABRICS. ALL FROM MY STACH. DOING THIS QUILT IS HOW I TAUGHT MYSELF TO APPLIQUE.

Just wanted to say that scrap quilts can come from years of collecting. I have drawers of holiday/winter fabric nothing that reallly says christmas. But last year a friend got a new magizine " America Loves Scrap Quilts - Spring 2009" the quilt was called "Star Sampler" I finally KNEW what to do with all of that holiday/winter fabric. I made piles of red, green, & cream fabrics and just started building blocks. for me this was such a challenge since I dont always see the forrest for the trees I dont always "see" what a project will look like if I dont use the same fabrics as the pattern. But in9 (NINE) days from start to finish FMQ and binding I complete my holiday quilt!!!!
here is a photo

This newbe has started a nice collection of squares and such, learning to cut with rotor blade, so I have 5" 4" 3" 2" squares. Now ready to go!
