You did great! Love the combination. My first block was an Ohio Star http://www.quilterscache.com/O/OhioStarBlock.html

You can browse this website http://www.quilterscache.com/QuiltBlocksGalore.html for a ton of free quilt blocks patterns and make a sampler.

You have a great eye for color. I also suggest the Warm Wishes pattern. Type in to the search field on the site, there is a lot of information there.

Split rail would be pretty also. http://www.quilterscache.com/R/RailFenceBlock.html

or this zig-zag

It will be beautiful no matter what block you pick!

You did very well at picking out your first fabrics.... I think you will do very well at quilting too. Please be sure and show us pics of your quilt. I also think that Quilters cache is your best bet for choosing your first block.
Good luck to you and may you have lots of fun with this!

Whewwwwwwwwwwww Thank you all for the nice compliments and suggestions. I'm leaning toward the Ohio Star or Warm Wishes at the moment. Not sure yet, my first attempt needs to be fairly easy. lol I'm biting my nails wondering if I can really do this.

If you choose the Ohio Star, I would recommend that you try a practice one before you cut up your new fabric. Just my opinion. I teach this block in beginning quilting, but not as a first block.
