I think that wallhanging is awesome -- tough pattern, and you even quilted it! I love it!

I'm so sorry this happened... Some people are just "fickle" and have no sense of hurting others. Personally, I think the wall hanging is beautiful! Would love to try to make one one day and would even more enjoy being given one.... You just gave it to the wrong person!

I think it is beautiful. It may have been that your father just didn't know how to express his appreciation. In his heart, he probably was proud of you, but couldn't express it. Some men are that way.

If you could be behind closed doors watching him, he probably picked it up later and looked at it and was proud you thought of him.

Soooo sorry. I think it is a beautiful quilt and made nicely. I guess Dads and others just think they can say what they want even when it hurts. I would have sat there in front of him and cried my eyes out.

that's beautiful taiboo, so something tells me there is something going on with your Dad, besides being ungrateful!
That is not what we teach our kids! I'm sorry he did that.
Don't pick it apart or yourself. I'm not just being nice.
It's a nice gift! sorry, but dad was not being nice at all.
Family? what ya gonna do with them?

    Kimberlie,
I'm so sorry that your Dad did that to you. You did a very good job on your quilt and it looks very patriotic to me.
Please don't let this unpleasant experience stop you from making more beautiful quilts. (((((( HUGS )))))
My SIL did something similar to me, I made a basket quilt for her and DH's brother as a wedding gift. She only shows the back of the quilt, not the front. I put a lot of work into the piecing the blocks and doing the quilting.

    Taiboo
    that wall hanging is lovely.
Just put all that feeling into an imaginary ball and throw it away as hard as you can!!!
I am always having to do that----having son's it often hurts when their wives family comes before us and we get left out quite often, I know it's not the same thing as yours but it's still a sensitive feeling
