WOW! These are beautiful, but very expensive for my fixed income budget. I'd love to have one, but it will never happen at that price. I will just have to stick with my wire hanger. Not very pretty, but it works great and was free.

I bought the Clotilde stand as well and recommend it. However, in addition to just putting the cone in a cup behind your machine, I have seen other blogs in which they taped a small safety pin along the top of the machine [near your machine spools] to add a thread guide to further decrease the chances of snagging while sewing. I haven't tried this myself because I saw the Clotilde
spool holder and since it wasn't that expensive, I just bought it.

My husband made me one. A block of wood about 4 x 4 for the stand. He drilled a hole in it and glued in about a 10-12 inch dowel. Drilled a hole for another dowel about4 inched tall (for the thread to go over) and then on the side of the tall dowel he screwed in a tiny little eye hook for the thread to run through before it goes to the machine and finishes threading the normal way. I love it. I'd send a picture if I could figure out how!

i have big cones,put it in the floor and let it run up from the back of your machine,,,or if you know of a place that has commercial machines they may have a thread holder for sale,,those are great

I have several stands but the one I like the most is the one my husband made for me. He looked at one at one of the fabric shops and designed his way. I works great.

Hi, Atlanta Thread Co has really good stands. I bough 2 and I love them. Now I don't run out of thread, and you can alsowind your bobbins too. irishd1048

I use a thread stand and it works great. Saves money to buy the big spools of thread.
