As mentioned, my DD and SIL are in Auckland, NZ. In fact, DD was home for 2 months and just reached Auckland yesterday. Chatted via computer with my SIL last evening and they are fine, didn't even feel a little shake. Auckland is on the North Island. I am very relieved. Just after they arrived there last year there was a quake that they did feel a little jiggle. We were planning to visit Christchurch when we go over to NZ in February.
Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts for our Kiwi friends. I am adding mine for those who have been forced out of their homes and/or have been affected by the damage and chaos.

News on radio after it hit, was reported to be in Australia. Then heard it was Chrischurch. What a horrible thing to have happen anywhere. If any on Borad here from NZ hope all is well. Keep us informed.

It is still winter and it is cold there.

I am in California and I have experienced every big earthquake in Northern California and Southern California, starting in 1956. No kidding. I feel like the earthquake magnet. I hope every one is ok. I saw some photos on u-tube and it was bad.
