Thanks!

Must get my blocks out again and have a play with the colours.

May be I was a bit too harsh in my dismisall of the the black. Could get away with just a narrow sashing as its only 1/2" and the same round the scallops. Gosh thats seems ages away before I get that far. You are doing really well Patti. I am just up to the final week that is posted which I think is 38.

Elle, as I recall your auditioned your blocks on point with alternating black blocks, so you probably remember half the quilt as half black, yeah it would be! It was pretty, but obviously, your blocks didn't want to play with that much black, that is why you felt it was too much! :)

Again, it is all personal preference too, I think all of our quilts should reflect our color style!! Once finished, look how beautful Lesley's is and all the others before!

Yes, you are right, that is probably why I thought it was too black, I had the centre as a black centre and it put me off. thanks Meredith for reminding me, you are absolutely right.

I am goning to have to try this out tomorrow again and have a fresh look.

Just finished the handquilting of my fan quilt I amso thrilled I did it as it was not a labour of love I can tell you.

What a great memory Wil....I had forgotten that she had half the blocks as solid black..you're right! Elle, I agree..thats too much black...try it again with just the Asains..I can't wait to see that one...I bet you will feel much better about it. You were going to do less blocks or something if I recall...no..you can't...you have to bear with all of them just like the rest of us!!

Meredith-I like the black. Have you thought of a chocolate brown, or even a dark forest green? I figure I have fabric, I can make all sorts of changes before I sew it together.

Pepita, Thanks for your comments! Dark green would be pretty! I think its going to be the black for the sashing.

Now, I wonder, should I have cornerstones with the black sashing? Red or cream or mixed?? Or, just skip cornerstones??? Why is this so difficult????

Just for fun, here are my blocks auditioned with a red background, I didn't post it a few pages back with other colors!

Thered is very nice but it doesn´t make the blocks pop like the black did. Its a nice red though not too bright.

Thats what I thought too, I just wanted to be sure. I can't see past my own blocks sometimes, when it comes to making color decisions!

I sewed black sashing on two sides of three blocks and I did use that red as the cornerstones. :)
