If we're going doing memory lane, how about Sky King, Fury, Howdy Doody, Captain Kangaroo, The Lone Ranger, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, Saturday morning cartoons (REAL cartoons, not what they show today), mom and dad watching Lawrence Welk on Saturday night.

Do you remember the candy elastic necklaces that left our neck so sticky. Hoop skirts. Rag rollers for your hair. Large cardboard boxes for sleds. Hair teased and so full of hairspray that when your head would itch, you used a small knitting needle to scratch. No crime, left the keys in the car and never locked our house, probably didn't have a key.

I remember those! I hadn't thought of them in years. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

I have enjoyed this trip too. I had to read thru all the posts to make sure no one enter my idea already . I remember most of what you all mentioned.

No one mentioned ....SPOOLIES....the pink rubber curlers that folded back onto themselves to hold the roller. Please tell me that someone else remembers them ! ! !! (~.~)

When I took a Club Med vacation years ago, these beads were used as currency. You bought them on account (used credit to pay) and then used them to pay for drinks and such. The joke was that you started out with a belt and ended the week with a ring. It was a fun way to handle money without having to carry any cash on you.
