I bought this vintage top in an antique shop a year ago and finished it yesterday. I put off doing it for that long because of the condition, lots of pooches in the pieceing and uneven edges. I was totally unsure of how to do it but finally just went for it. Most of the pooches quilted out and the uneven edges got covered with a wide binding. Is this a double wedding ring pattern? I wonder because of the pink in the overlap parts. Anybody know when this top may have been pieced? I love the old prints.

Don't know the answers to your questions, but I wanted to say the quilt is very nice.

IMHO that is definitely a double wedding ring quilt. I have never seen one done with the colors in the wedges and such, but the rings are made out of material very much like that in an old DWW quilt I have that either my GM or GGM made. That would make it rather old. I would say 60+ years, but I am by no means an expert. But, I will bet someone on the board is, so you should get an answer. By the way, great job on the rescue!

Hmmmm...now that I look at it again, I don't know if it is as old as I thought at first. Some of the fabric looks that old, but some of it looks more like the 1960's-70's, so perhaps someone had a stash of old material and added what they had from the current time to it.

Definitely a double wedding ring. Fabrics look like they span many years. Someone had a good stash!

What a stunning quilt! I love the very traditional patterns, especially the double wedding ring. You did an incredible job on this treasure!
